"I’m playing a pick up game and that’s basically when a bunch of people from the state come to play a game of lacrosse. Its not like you’re playing for a school or a team, its just people who want to play for fun but it is an actual game. We wear reversible jerseys for teams.
I’m a midfielder and we can go all over the field, which is different from the attack men who can only play on the offensive side of the field. The defensive people play on the same side as the attack men.
It’s kind of like soccer but there’s a ball and a stick and you pass the ball from player to player with the stick.
I have been playing for eight years and it can get pretty violent sometimes because it’s a contact sport. People get hit with the sticks and balls all the time. It’s worse than football because there’s a metal stick that you can hit people with. I get hurt a lot and I have bruises all the time, but I haven’t been hurt so bad to the point where I don’t want to play anymore. I just love sports like lacrosse and football. You just always have to stay careful. You’re going to get hurt but at the same time its fun, it teaches values and its good exercise, that’s why I play."
